Development showcases spaces for housing and retail

A new development in Riebeek Kasteel, with an estimated price tag of R18 million, will launch tomorrow.
This will include townhouses and retail spaces on the erf of the Kasteelberg Country Inn and Bistro.
Plans are currently in for approval with the Swartland Municipality and with Heritage Western Cape and might be approved during the course of February.
No formal construction may begin before that but developers will commence with the site clean-up, ceiling and floor repairs on March 1st.
This development is part of a development trust and will be managed by Percipient Property Solutions, owned by Mark Tame, who is also a stakeholder in the trust, together with a small group of investors.
Tame is moving to the valley in the next couple of months and has bought property in the valley where he is going to build his own dream house and investing in the valley even further.
“Having being schooled in a small country town (Sir de Villiers Graaf – Villiersdorp) the yearning to return to this lifestyle has never left and the redevelopment of the old Kasteelberg Inn provided the final impetus to do so.”
Once formal approval is received demolition of the recent additions of the garage and storage rooms will be done as well as the internal works on the existing building.
Tame hopes that this will not take more than six months.
According to Tame, the ground floor will be developed into eight retail units ranging in size from as a small as 8sqm to as large as 34sqm.
The idea is that some of these units can be combined providing as much versatility as possible. The first floor will be slightly reconfigured to provide four self contained hospitality units.
The development of the four townhouses or apartments will only commence once sufficient pre-sales are in place.
“The market feedback received is that there is a demand for small, modern lock-up and go units that are in keeping with the local architecture. These 164sqm, 3 bed units will be priced under R3m and will be sold on sectional title basis.”

Groenkloof celebrates six years in the valley

“Dear amazing Valley people,
It is with great pride and even greater humble appreciation to our clients that we can say that this is our sixth year in the valley.
We started in a very small space in Riebeek West in March 2016. We were lucky to have been able to move to a larger building soon after that.
It is unbelievably difficult to start a new veterinary practice in a town as each environment has its own unique clients and needs. We listened to our clients and have a very wide variety of stock and services available at Groenkloof Riebeek. We have a portable sonar machine as well as an ultrasonic teeth descaler which we use at the Riebeek branch. A top of the range X-ray machine is available at our Malmesbury branch if such a service is ever needed.
We have amazing Vets! They have loads of experience and can help with small animals, large animals, wildlife, and exotics.
We are planning very, very big things for the future of Groenkloof in Riebeek, and we want our clients to be part of it every step of the way. Please feel free to give us your suggestions if there is anything extra, services or stock, that you want at your Groenkloof Riebeek branch. We are here to bring everything veterinary that you may need to the Valley.
Pets Parlour:
Our parlour, Pets Pleasure, in Riebeek is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Bring your fur baby in for a treat.
Loyalty Cards:
We started our loyalty program in Riebeek as well. This way you as a client will be rewarded for your regular support of any Groenkloof branch. All the information you need about the loyalty program will be available to you in store.”
During the month of February we also have a great special:
Spays 10% discount.
Neuter 15% discount.
Please make your appointment at any Groenkloof branch to make use of this offer.

The success of each individual however, depends on their willingness to use the opportunities provided. Louis Mbongo is one such an individual that has put every opportunity to good use and who we are proud to have as part of the Swartland Municipality family.

By continuing his education, Louis equipped himself with skills that made it possible for him to apply for the process controller position, when it became available.
Upon his appointment as process controller in Darling, Louis, who lives in Ilinge Lethu, made a special trip to Joggie Scholtz’s (Municipal Manager) office to thank him and the Swartland Municipality for providing him with the opportunity to further his education and career. Scholtz thanked Louis for his dedication to the Municipality and praised him as an excellent example of what can be achieved by hard work and using every available opportunity. Scholtz said: “Louis is an inspiration and example of the hard working people Swartland Municipality wants to attract and invest in. Investment in our employees is a priority and it benefits the Municipality and our communities.” .
