Big success for K9-unit

Another successful operation was conducted by our municipal K9-unit in cooperation with SAPS and the Provincial Traffic Department on 7 October 2021. This was the second operation of its kind this week and was conducted on the N7 between the R311-turnoff and the Koringberg-turnoff.
Four suspects were apprehended in two separate incidents and arrested for the possession and the suspected distribution of illegal narcotics. In the first incident, a vehicle, traveling from Cape Town to Moorreesburg was pulled over for standard stop and search procedure. Officers found Tik to the estimated street value of R23 320 in the vehicle and one person was arrested.
In a second incident, a vehicle on its way to Graafwater was stopped at the N7 Weighbridge. The vehicle was searched and Mandrax tables to the value of R50 000 was found. The three occupants were arrested.
These four suspects are set to appear before the Moorreesburg Magistrate Court.
Our sincere gratitude goes out to all the safety and security role-players that are working with us to ensure the safety of our communities, and helping to prevent the scourge of drugs destroying the lives of our residents. We will continue to work with all our partners to create a safer environment for all. We also urge our residents to report suspicious activities to SAPS or our Municipal Law Enforcement.
