Local law enforcement officials meet to improve

A meeting between various law enforcement entities to clarify roles and responsibilities took place at WCDM’s Disaster Management Centre. Councillors responsible for Safety at municipalities, senior municipal management, Municipal Law Enforcement Officers, Municipal Traffic, SAPS, Neighbourhood Watches, Farm Watches and security were in attendance.
The objective of the meeting was to discuss the roles and responsibilities of these agencies in order to improve collaboration and enhance community safety in the region.
The Executive Mayor of West Coast District Municipality, Alderman Boffie Strydom, held a ceremonial handover of a Pocket Manual to Municipal Law Enforcement Officers, Municipal Traffic, SAPS and various other law enforcement agencies. The pocket guide, developed by WCDM Disaster Management and Community Safety unit, will enable law enforcement officials to render a more effective and efficient service to communities.
“I want to thank everybody involved in compiling the booklet for their valuable contribution and for the overall success of the project” said Mayor Strydom.
