Saldanha Bay Municipality inaugurated its fourth Youth Council at a special ceremony held at the White City Multipurpose Centre in Saldanha recently. The Youth Council will serve the youth of the Saldanha Bay municipal area and work together with youth orientated organisations to address issues relating to peer pressure, substance abuse and the school drop-out rate. The elected Youth Councillors are a fair representation of all wards in the Saldanha Bay Municipal area and attend high schools within the municipal towns. The newly elected Youth Councillors are: Alexi Frick, Anke Austin, Caro-lee Cupido, Charlize Ramsden, Christo de Wet, Crestobell Kamowa, Damian Cleophas, Isiah Mataka (Junior Mayor), Jaden Tromp (Junior Deputy Speaker), Janesta Swarts, Jason Geldenhuys, Kaylin Hector, Leila Louw, Lothan Love, Makwenkwe Khanyisa, Pieter Kotze, Sade Williams, Saleni Aviwe, Skhokele Torheni (Junior Speaker), Stacey Langley (Junior Deputy Mayor) and Tashlyn Engelbrecht. Saldanha Bay Municipality welcomed its new Youth Council and wished them well for their 2020/21 term of office.
